German cockroaches are a species of cockroaches that are typically found in homes, buildings, and institutions all over the country. Not only are cockroaches unlikable, there is a correlation between cockroach infestations and higher rates of respiratory problems. In our experiment we wanted to know how much particulate matter they release. We did an experiment where we have two tanks, one with roaches and one without them. Then we placed an air quality monitor in each of them to measure the particulate matter (PM) that the roaches release into the air.
