Watch the video with guest scientist(s)!

Scientists often need to zoom in close to get a look at the things they're studying. They can do this by using microscopes, telescopes, or even just a camera!
Do an experiment with Junior Scientists Vanessa and Jane to see if you and your friends or family can tell when something is larger than life! (This challenge produced with support from the HMS Dean’s Innovation Award for Diversity and Inclusion.)
Materials for microscope experiment:
- phone (needs to have workable lens), or actual lenses
- object (anything you want to take a picture of)
- ruler
- paper and pen to record your data
Recommended for middle and high schoolers
