Did you know that music is all about vibrations?
Learn with Junior Scientists Lauren and Rubie about the physics behind music and make your own musical instruments with things you already have at home!
Materials for a guitar:
- cereal box
- ballpoint pen
- three to five rubber bands
- scissors
Materials for a xylophone:
- five or more glass cups (of same size)
- measuring cup
- metal spoon
- (optional) food coloring
- water
- pen and paper to record your observations (experiment with different kinds of liquid for the xylophone!)
